Environment Leader sought for AONB Vice-Chair

The North Devon Coast AONB Partnership is seeking a new vice-chair. This unpaid, voluntary position plays an important role in overseeing the delivery of the AONB Management Plan to conserve and enhance this outstanding coast and countryside.

This two year position provides a fascinating opportunity to engage with a wide range of issues and opportunities in the North Devon coastal area. The AONB Partnership brings together representatives from the public, private, voluntary and community sectors to oversee delivery of the AONB management plan, responses on planning and development within the area and delivery of a small grant scheme. Potential candidates need experience of chairing meetings and partnership working, combined with knowledge of the area, the natural environment and sustainable development in rural areas. Time commitment varies seasonally, with seven main governance meetings over the year, sub-groups and project meetings and occassional publicity events,

Partnership Chairman Steve Mulberry commented, "This is a great opportunity to make a contribution to conserving this outstanding coast. The Partnership has members with a range of skills and knowledge to inform our work, including business and community representatives alongside the public and statutory agencies.
