One of the best ways to explore the coastline is via the South West Coast Path, which passes through the entire North Devon AONB on its 630 mile (I, 000 km) journey around the South West of England.
The South West Coast Path is a National Trail, designated by the Countryside Agency it is managed and maintained by the Northern Devon North Devon AONB Unit and the National Trust. With several million people visiting it each year, it is one of the regions most popular tourist attractions.

There are nearly 300 km of Public Footpath, Bridleway and Byway within the designated AONB to allow visitors to explore the stunning scenery and tranquil areas. Many of these routes form circular walks, frequently using the South West Coast Path as a link. Many circular walk leaflets are available from local tourist information centre's and much information about the Public Rights of Way network can be obtained on the Devon County Council Website at
