The Project carried out research and published a report based on historic evidence to the present day, on the significance of Braunton Marshes within the Biosphere area and AONB area.

Project aimed to inform and educate school children at farmers markets, farm shops and through farm visits, on or near the AONB, about how food is produced on farms and the issues facing farming in North Devon and the AONB. Over 600 school children attended the visits.

The Project promoted the value of Forest Schools through a series of pilot sessions for schools, held within the AONB at Berrynarbor and at Appledore Primary Schools involving 280 children. In addition, SWF held 3 training events for teachers and 600 children were involved in tree planting schemes.

This was a Regional bid involving most Protected Landscapes in the South West to encourage the use of woodfuel systems. In North Devon grant funding was made available for Pathfinder Volunteer Business Training Centre in Braunton to install a Woodfuel Boiler system
