As part of the 2008 North Devon Festival, the AONB Local Life Photographic Competition is now underway. Photographers of all ages are invited to grab a camera and capture the essence of local life within the North Devon AONB and the North Devon Festival. The celebration starts at 12 noon on Saturday at the Visitor Centre. Joss Ackland C.B.E. world famous character actor, will open the celebrations by cutting the ribbon and birthday cake and draw the lucky winner of the competition in the North Devon Journal. A local brass band will play stirring tunes to get everyone in the mood.There will also be a raffle with big prizes, bargin pots of mouth-watering Clovelly strawberries and cream for sale and huge discounts at the Visitor Centre, the Court Gardens and shops. And to finish there's an evening of exciting live music. Join in the prize balloon race! Buy one of 400 helium-filled balloons and watch them go into the skies. It's all for a good cause. Half the proceeds from fund-raising events will go to the North Devon Hospice. Sometime between mid May and Mid June, we expect our 5 millionth visitor and you never know, you might be the lucky one.
