The North Devon Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) is a stunning coastal area which is nationally protected for the beauty of its landscape. It is at the heart of North Devon's UNESCO Biosphere Reserve and covers 171 km sq of the coastal landscape from Marsland Mouth on the Cornish border to Combe Martin on the boundary of Exmoor National Park.

Explore the Coast

Explore the Coast is a project funded by Leader for Torridge and North Devon and the North Devon AONB. Over the past two years a massive corpus of research and technical information has been reviewed and put into a form for easy public access. The project aims to increase awareness of the special qualities of the AONB and encourage car free tourism for at least one of two days of the visit. It does this by providing a raft of web based resources for people to use starting at the front door of their home or holiday accommodation.
